MARINA DEL REY HARBOR DREDGING AND SEPARATION PROCESS
Marina Del Ray, CA- US Army Corps of Engineers
CJW Construction successfully managed the maintenance dredging and sand separation process at Marina Del Rey Harbor. This contract was a performance-based, marine construction contract for maintenance dredging. CJW dredged the contaminated sand and sediment that clogged the Marina Del Rey outlet Channel near the detached breakwater, pumped the material, then used new technology to separate contaminants from beach-suitable materials.
CJW Construction furnished all plant, labor, materials and equipment for maintenance dredging and sand separation, including quality control, environmental protection, and safety management. This included CJW making the purchase of a new state of the art Hydraulic Dredge. This Ocean and Freshwater worthy vessel is one of the largest one-move machines that can fit onto a dropdown low-bed semi for interstate transport. CJW made this tier three (3) power unit investment to leap ahead of the competition in efficiency/production and ability to meet the highest level of CA Air Quality Requirements. The machine comes with superior grade control devices, such as the ability to operate off wire or GPS electronics. |
